Mark Hostetter
Mark Hostetter recounts his experience living as a gay law student and lawyer during New York City during the AIDS epidemic, particularly in how he witnessed the culture shift from the 1970s to the 1980s. He describes the compassion and empathy that was needed to care for loved ones, particularly his partner, with AIDS, and how he needed to form his own support system to manage his own emotions as a caretaker. He notes how, despite the anger he felt for the lack of action taken to combat the epidemic, caring for those that needed him, either physically or emotionally, took priority.
